The week of the elephant

The colorful elephant is one of my favorite projects.  Each one is so different even though we do the drawing as a class.  The students follow me as I draw the elephant on the board, they draw the elephant line by line with a yellow crayon.  It is very hard to see until you add the watercolor.  These elephants were created by first and second graders.

Side note: I had a 2nd grader tell me that she was so honored to meet "a REAL artist" and could she have my autograph.  It has been a good first week.
