In this drawing class we drew with all types of drawing tools from chalk and charcoal to pencils and oil pastels. The first drawings are some examples of the contour line drawings that we practiced almost everyday. The students lived up to the challenge. By the end they were doing blind contour drawings (they didn't look at their drawings, hands, or pencils while drawing the image). We also practiced how to add depth and shape to our drawings (hand print drawings and the snakes, pencil, and paint brushes).

In this class we explored the world through textures. The students studied real textures and implied textures. The real textures were used in an animal project based on the wonderful artist Eric Carle. Then they studied zentangles in many different forms. The textures in the zentangles are implied and all created by the students. Our final project each student did a section of the image and then we put four together to create one implied texture flower. |
