I started working with rust (red iron oxide) on paper in 2003. The work continues to evolve and change as I experiment with the process, objects and imagery. The Nordic symbols come from my Norwegian heritage.
I have worked extensively with traditional printmaking methods. My favorite technique is intaglio, which forms the base of my prints. As modern printmaking evolves, my prints have become more hybrid prints. In addition to intaglio techniques, I use a combination of methods such as collagraphs, solar plates, and typeface.
I have been painting most of my life. Some of my earliest memories are painting watercolors with my mom. My paintings consist of watercolors, oil, and acrylic. I work in all sizes from small note-cards to murals.
The world of bookmaking is one I find intriguing and challenging. I enjoy creating books completely from scratch as well as working with other artists in the layout of books to showcase their work.
